I have worked in and with retail for well over 30 years, owning and franchising a chain of store, co-founding a pharmacy marketing growth group, and speaking and consulting to a myriad of retail groups and individual stores in multiple countries.
I am qualified to do so, not only in practice, but hold degrees in psychology, military strategy and a more recently acquired Master’s degree in marketing, which focused on the ‘new’ ways to grow businesses. These give me a good understanding of shopper’s motivations, the impact of the digital age on retail, and how to ‘out-flank’ competitors.
I am passionate about retailing as a business model. Shopping is fun! It’s a wonderful recreational pursuit and when you buy something, you get a dopamine hit – so the ‘trick’ is to give your customers this level of excitement to come and shop with you.
